CAST

Nathan Salandy as Robert Wilson

I cast Nathan for the role of Robert because I felt that he had potential to portray that awkwardness personality that Robert was supposed to have. Though he was a social and friendly person to talk to outside of the audition, he was able to capture the nervous, outcast type of character. He wasn't too familiar with the themes and elements of the story, but he was able to adapt to it quite well, and was even titillated upon learning what the subject would be that would delivery the comedy (traps). Also, he had that first impression look that I felt was appropriate for the role of Robert.

Ryan Hogan as Detective Davis

Ryan had that outgoing, determined personality that I saw in Davis. He also looked the part, and when I pushed him by improvising a scene in the audition process, he was successful in delivering. He was able to play a straight-laced cop while also portraying an awkward situation performance, which was how I intended to delivery the comedy through Davis.

Ryan was also familiar with comic book culture and knew about cosplay, though he wasn't aware of the elements I used in the script, but he was able to quickly learn from it and even contributed to a small change in the script.

LOCATION SCOUTING

Durham College

I had a difficult time location scouting (possibly a weak role of mine), and so I opted to use the school's photo studio for the interrogation room. I took advantage of this "hindrance" by making use of the contrasting background: the white walls of the classroom for the waiting room (intro) scene, and the black background for the interrogation scene.

Had I been able to success scout a better location and had better experience in acquiring permits, I would have use an interrogation room in a courthouse or a police station. However, I was still content with the result, especially since I wanted to focus more on scriptwriting, as that is what I wanted to pursue.
